Beginning this year, the car sales in Indonesia only reached 84,885 units, according to Gaikindo, which was decreased by 9.9% the same month last year. Seeing this weakening of buying power, the year of 2016 seems to be a difficult year for Indonesia to boost up the sales by 5% from the actual sales of 1.01 million units last year.
However, there are some push factors that can support the car sales such as the national economic growth (predicted 5.3% this year), the decreasing BI rate and also the high-way construction outside Java that may boost up prospective consumers to buy cars.
Here is the detail for Indonesia best-selling cars in January 2016 (Gaikindo):
1. Toyota AVANZA : 9,370 units
